The short answer

Without insurance, a windshield replacement at All-Source AutoGlass in Windsor usually costs about $300 to $800 or more, a rock chip repair about $60 to $80, and an ADAS camera recalibration about $150 to $300 or more. Door glass, back glass, semi-truck and heavy equipment glass are quoted individually. Your exact price depends on the vehicle, the glass and the cameras.

Is $500 a lot for a new windshield?

No. For most vehicles $500 sits inside the normal range of about $300 to $800 or more. A windshield on an older car with no camera is usually toward the low end. A newer vehicle with a camera behind the glass, a rain sensor or heated glass is usually toward the high end, and the camera recalibration is priced on top.

What makes a windshield cost more?

The biggest one is a camera behind the glass. Lane-keeping and automatic braking cameras need a recalibration after a new windshield, which adds about $150 to $300 or more.

Then the glass itself. Rain sensors, heated glass and acoustic glass cost more than plain glass, glass from the vehicle maker’s own supplier is priced differently from aftermarket glass, and glass that has to be ordered in can cost more than glass in stock.

That is why we quote each vehicle rather than print a single price. Windshield replacement and ADAS recalibration explain the jobs.

What will I pay with insurance?

Glass damage is usually claimed under comprehensive coverage. If your policy has a deductible, you usually pay the deductible and your insurer pays the rest. Some customers pay nothing for a covered glass claim and others pay their deductible, depending on the policy. We bill the insurer directly. See how insurance claims work.

How do I get an exact price?

Send the year, make and model and which glass is damaged. A photo helps, and you can text one to (970) 909-0194. We reply with a price for your vehicle.
